COVID-19 Update

At our office, the health, safety, and well-being of our patient families and staff has always been our highest priority. The coronavirus pandemic has not changed our values of serving our community. It has, however, changed the way that we do some things at the office.

Appointment Updates at DPD Smiles

Prior to your child’s appointment, you will receive a confirmation email and text with a request to bring and wear a mask for each member of your family. We also ask that you try to minimize the number of people attending the appointment to a single parent. We do understand that some families may have challenges with child care for siblings who do not have an appointment. We will do our best to make accommodations for everyone in our practice without sacrificing the safety of all of our families.

When you arrive, you are welcome to use our waiting room, however we do ask everyone to wear booties for infection control purposes. There will be circumstances where families are asked to wait in the car until their appointment time, and we understand that this may be a preference for some families. As always, we are hopeful that you will communicate your preferences and comfort level with our staff so that we can serve your needs in the best way possible.

In addition to our normal focus on infection control, we have now implemented several measures to minimize the airborne transmission of the coronavirus. Some of these measures take more time to perform. As you know, we have always made a sincere effort to operate on-time. We respect your time as much as we want our time to be valued. However, there may be some circumstances that result in our running behind schedule as we adapt to the “new normal”. We will NOT sacrifice your family’s health and safety in the interest of running on-time. And we will do our best to be up-front with you if we are running behind. We ask for your patience as we learn and adapt in ways to better serve family.

Scheduling Your Appointment With Us

We are doing our best to put our schedule back in a way that meets everyone’s needs; we acknowledge that this is an impossible task but promise to give our best in all we do each day. If you have concerns and would like to speak with the team so that we can help prioritize your child’s needs, please reach out to us by phone or email.

In the end, we want to assure you that we have taken every precaution to keep our community safe. We understand that a dental appointment can be stressful under normal circumstances; this is truer today than ever before. We are happy to address any specific questions or concerns that you may have about our protocols.
